Editorial policy

Every WorthSpan figure should be one you can check. This is how we make sure it is.

Official sources only

Tax and payroll rules come only from the authority that sets them — for example the Kenya Revenue Authority, the Social Health Insurance Regulations and NSSF for Kenya, and the IRS and Social Security Administration for the United States. Each rule set names its sources, its tax year, the date it was last verified and a version number such as KE-2026.2. Where an official source is not available, WorthSpan does not publish a figure: unverified countries stay disabled in the calculators.

Figures are computed by code, never written by hand or by AI

Every number in a calculator result comes from deterministic, versioned code. AI is used only to explain a result in plain language and never calculates or changes a figure. Guides that quote numbers are tested against the same engines: if a rule changes, the tests fail until the guide is updated, so an article cannot drift from the calculator.

Review before publication

Narkisho Nyonje, WorthSpan's founder and editor, approves every guide before publication and signs off each tax-engine update against the official sources it cites. Each guide shows who reviewed it and when it was last updated. About the editor.

Updates and corrections

Rules are re-checked when an authority publishes a change and at the start of each tax year. When a rule changes, the engine gets a new version, the verification date is updated, and affected guides are revised. If you find an error, tell us through the contact form — corrections are made as soon as they are verified, and the updated date on the page changes with them.

Independence and advertising

Advertising and partnerships never change a calculation, and ads are never placed inside calculator inputs or results. WorthSpan provides estimates for information only; it is not financial, tax or legal advice.
